Business Challenge
A solution which would streamline dispatch activities from a warehouse and which would reduce the incidence of dispatch errors i.e. the dispatch of incorrect goods or incorrect quantities.

Product Summary :
In response to incoming Purchase Orders from customers, a Sales Order is generated in Exchequer which reflects the chosen items. Exchequer then creates a picking list from the Sales Order and this is sent to the dispatchers in the warehouse.
The dispatcher picks the ordered goods from various locations in the warehouse and brings them to the warehouse scanning station; a PC with attached bar-code scanner. The VBT fulfilment solution running on this PC requires the dispatcher to firstly enter the Order Number. When that is done, the dispatcher must then scan each physical product with the bar-code scanner.
After scanning each product, the software confirms that the product is part of the order and prompts the user to enter the quantity picked. Once the items are scanned and confirmed as

part of the order, the software updates Exchequer to allocate the stock to the order (and to change recorded stock levels accordingly) and the Delivery Note is then automatically printed.
On occasion the quantity picked may be less than the required order quantity, where stock levels are not sufficient. If this happens, the software will update Exchequer to put each of the outstanding goods on back-order, against that customer's name.
